US businesses · 20+ employees · years of records
Your company's old emails, docs and tickets may be worth six figures to AI labs.
AI companies are licensing real business records to teach their systems how work actually gets done. Enter your website and see in seconds what yours could be worth. Free, no obligation, and no data leaves your hands to get a number.

How this number was calculated
Base ranges come from published buyer program pages and a buyer directory (Oct 2026); multipliers are our own simple assumptions. Real offers depend on what's actually in the data, what can be cleared, and buyer demand at the time.
Pre-filled answers are marked found. Change anything that's wrong; the estimate updates as you go.
Your estimate:
Where should we send offers?
We'll review your profile and line up buyers who fit. You decide whether to share anything, and whether to accept.
Got it. We'll be in touch.
Expect a reply within 1–2 business days, usually sooner.
- We review your profile and check it's a fit.
- A short call to confirm what you have. No data is copied.
- We compare offers from the labs we work with, only with your OK. You approve any deal in writing.
How it works
- 1
Enter your domain
We read public info (email provider, website, web archive, domain age) and pre-fill a short profile. You confirm it and see an indicative range right away.
- 2
We price it and compare offers
We configure your profile and take it to the AI labs and data programs we work with, then give you a clear side-by-side comparison of the offers available. Only after you say yes, and only with your profile, never raw data.
- 3
You choose, we handle the hassle
Pick the offer you want, or none. We run the back-and-forth and the paperwork. De-identification and diligence happen under a contract your company signs with the lab.
What buyers want
- Email and team chat threads about real work
- Support tickets, escalations and resolutions
- CRM history, quotes and project records
- SOPs, runbooks, checklists and audit trails
- Screen or call recordings of multi-step tasks
Good fits: agencies, managed service providers, e-commerce, and other workflow- or CRM-heavy businesses, usually with 20+ employees and multiple years of records. Data that's mostly medical, financial or consumer records needs special review, and restaurants and retail usually aren't a fit.
What's not part of it
- Customer payment card or bank details
- HR files, medical records, personnel reviews
- Anything you're not allowed to share under a client NDA or contract
- Data you licensed from someone else
- Your ownership, your brand, your future data
Final scope is set in each buyer's contract. You approve exactly what's included.
Questions owners ask
Is this legit?
Yes, and it's fair to ask. AI labs are publicly paying for real business records (Google's $10M winning bid for Spirit Airlines' email archive is one example, reported by MIT Technology Review). FileFunding never asks for passwords, uploads or payment. You get a free estimate, your profile goes to labs only with your OK, and every deal is a contract your company signs with the lab, after your own lawyer reviews it if you like.
What do you do with my domain?
When you type a domain, our server checks public sources only: DNS records (to see if you use Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, plus tools like Slack or Zendesk that publish verification records), your homepage, the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine, public domain registration data, and GitHub. An AI model summarizes the homepage text. Nothing is stored unless you send the form.
Why would anyone pay for our old emails?
AI companies have used up most of the public internet. To build software that can do real jobs, they need examples of how real businesses actually operate: the back-and-forth, the fixes, the handoffs. Your records are exactly that.
What about privacy and our customers' information?
Buyers typically de-identify data before it's used: names, emails, phone numbers and other personal details are removed or replaced, and HR or sensitive records are excluded. You'll want to check that selling past data fits the privacy notices you gave customers and employees, and laws like CCPA, GDPR, HIPAA or GLBA where they apply. The buyer's diligence covers this; we recommend your own attorney reviews any contract.
Do we lose ownership of our data?
Usually not. Most deals are a license: the buyer gets the right to use a copy for training under contract terms, and you keep your records and your business. Terms vary by buyer, so read each offer.
Who can sell? What if some of it isn't ours?
Only an owner or authorized officer can agree to a deal, and only for data the company has the right to license. Material that belongs to clients, partners or vendors, data covered by an NDA, or data pulled through a vendor's API with restrictions (for example, some chat platforms' API terms forbid using exports to train AI) may need to be excluded. We don't give legal advice on this; the buyer and your counsel do.
How long does it take?
Our aim is to have first offers in front of you in about two weeks once you've shared your profile. Contract and delivery follow, and buyers typically pay anywhere from a few weeks to a few months after signing. Nothing is guaranteed: some companies won't receive offers.
We're closing down. Is it too late?
No, and it's often the best time. Wind-downs are a common source of these deals, and the proceeds can help settle obligations. If you're winding down, mention it and we'll move quickly, since records are often deleted when accounts are shut off.
What does this cost us? How do you get paid?
Nothing up front and nothing out of pocket. FileFunding is paid only when a deal closes: we take a cut, and exactly how much is disclosed to you in writing before you sign. No deal, no fee.
Do you buy our data?
No. FileFunding doesn't buy or resell data. We're the transparent middleman who gets you the best value for it: we work with the AI labs and data programs that pay for business data, price and configure yours, and give you a clear comparison of the offers available. Every agreement is between your company and the lab you choose.
Why use you instead of going direct?
You can go direct, and we'll tell you exactly which labs and programs we work with. But on your own you likely won't get the same offer: we know how these programs price data, and we put your profile in front of several at once so they compete. Setting up with each lab takes time, and for you it's a one-time deal. We handle the hassle, and we're only paid if a deal closes.

No promises
The estimate is a rough indication from public data points, not an offer or a valuation.
No raw data up front
We start with a short profile of what you have. Nothing is uploaded to get an estimate or a comparison of offers.
Your call, every step
Your profile goes out only with your OK. You choose the offer, the scope, and whether to sign at all.
Paid only on a close
Nothing up front. We take a cut only when a deal closes, disclosed in writing before you sign.
